The Henry Ford Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is a nationally recognized program for the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and seizure disorders.
The Center has one of the largest programs in Michigan with a team of epileptologists treating adults and children, and receives referrals from throughout the upper Midwest. Henry Ford provides the latest in medical therapy, surgical therapy, and neurostimulation implant therapies, all under one roof. Our highly experienced team conducts more than 4,000 clinic appointments, 2,900 EEGs, 300 admissions for monitoring and more than 60 surgical procedures each year.
The Henry Ford Comprehensive Epilepsy Center offers:
A Level-4 Epilepsy Center, the highest certification in accordance with the National Association of Epilepsy Centers' guidelines for patient care
The only Magnetoencephalography (MEG) in Michigan
An internationally known research team active in presenting and publishing its findings

Additional expertise in: epilepsy in women, epilepsy in the elderly, psychogenic seizures, post-traumatic epilepsy, and non-epileptic seizure disorders
The Henry Ford Epilepsy Team comprises specialists from the departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery, as well as other experts including neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists, speech-language pathologists, and nurses to provide state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment to patients.
The team holds a weekly Epilepsy Surgical Conference to review surgical candidates. The conference focuses on pinpointing the cause of each patient's seizures and then designing an individualized treatment plan. Some patients respond to new generation anti-seizure medications, others may require use of medications in development through clinical trial, and other patients may require surgery or implantation of neurostimulation devices to help reduce or eliminate seizures.
