The Henry Ford Division of Gynecologic Oncology offers comprehensive care to women diagnosed or suspected to have a cancer of the female reproductive system. Each year our team treats more than 275 women who have been diagnosed with cancers of the female reproductive system including ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, vulva cancer, vaginal cancer, and gestational trophoblastic disease.
Our gynecologic oncology surgery specialists offer the option of minimally invasive and robotic surgery when medically feasible, as well as the traditional surgical procedures used in the treatment of gynecologic cancer.
Our patients have access to the full range of advanced medical therapies including chemotherapies, biologic therapies, and radiation therapies. Clinical trial therapies for ovarian cancer and uterine cancer are ongoing as well.
Gynecologic Cancer Team Experts
Our gynecologic oncology specialists provide outpatient care located at the Josephine Ford Cancer Center where our team works closely with other cancer experts at Henry Ford Hospital and Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.
Treatment plans for our patients are reviewed by a team that includes gynecologic oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, nurse practitioner, nurse coordinator, research nurse, and genetic counselor.
Cases are discussed weekly in Tumor Board where the team reviews each patient's studies and individual medical condition to discuss the best course of treatment for each woman, especially important for complex gynecologic cancers.
