One of the largest collections of low-vision aids in Southeast Michigan.
Housed within the DIO, the Martha F. Gorey Resource Center offers a wide selection of items for the blind and visually impaired, offered at low cost. Hundreds of low-vision aids are on display and for sale, including:
- Closed-circuit magnifying machines
- Handheld and stand magnifiers
- Talking watches, clocks and calculators
- Large print and Braille items
Store hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Friends of Vision volunteers
The store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of Vision, and more help is always welcome. All necessary training is included, and you can choose a shift that best fits your schedule.
