A benefit for the Tom Groth Patient Medical Needs Fund
Henry Ford Emergency Departments will hold the second Tour de Ford bike ride on Sunday, September 18, 2011. This fully supported event features three routes, all starting and finishing at Henry Ford Hospital.
- 10-mile route with ride leader - includes the Heidelberg Project
- 35-mile ride - Henry Ford Medical Center - Cottage and the Heidelberg Project
- 70-mile ride - includes Henry Ford Medical Center - Fairlane and Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital
Online registration is closed. If you would like to participate, you must register the day of the event. To register, please arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the start time of the ride you want to participate in. All participants must be at least 18 years of age.
All participants should park in Lot 12 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, located at the corner of the John Lodge (M-10) service drive and Pallister. Registration tables are at the back of the hospital near the tennis courts. Volunteers will be onsite directing you the day of the event.
Registered riders will receive a t-shirt, snacks and water at designated rest stops, support vehicles to pick-up sagging cyclists, sponsor gift(s), a route map and cycling tips. Well-stocked rest stops and bike repair support (fees may apply) will be available during the ride.
Riders must arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of their ride: All rides will begin in the morning.
Race Start Times
- 70 miles - 7:30 a.m.
- 35 miles - 9:30 a.m.
- 10 miles - 10:30 a.m.
An after party will start at 1 pm where participants can enjoy post-event activities with food and beverages.
Preparing for the Ride
Every rider must wear a helmet for the ride and have a liability form filled out and on file prior to the day of the ride. Please note that all rides will have strict start and finish times to ensure safety for our participants. 2011 Commemorative Cycling Jersey
Riders interested in raising $250 or more to support the Tom Groth Patient Medical Needs Fund, will earn a free commemorative cycling jersey. Riders can ask friends and family to support their fundraising efforts by making a gift in their name. Henry Ford will track each rider's fundraising efforts. Commemorative cycling jerseys are now available for outright purchase for $75 each.
