David G. Duvall
Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing, Communications & Experience Officer
David Duvall, MPH, MBA, is a consumer engagement, change and growth leader, recognized for building and leading high performing teams. He joined Henry Ford in June 2019 as Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing, Communications & Experience Officer.
Prior to joining Henry Ford, David served as the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications Officer for Novant Health, an integrated health system in the Southeast more than 500 outpatient clinics, 16 hospitals and 26,000 team members. There, he led a multi-year marketing & communications transformation to develop new consumer engagement capabilities in the areas of brand advertising, public relations, internal communications, web/digital, and insights & analytics.
His health system work and transformation leadership has been highlighted in speeches at the Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD), Healthcare Marketing & Physician Strategies Summit, World Congress Healthcare, and the American Marketing Association (AMA) health system CMO, invitation-only roundtable. David’s change leadership was recently featured as the lead article in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) Catalyst, entitled, Consumer Engagement: New Tools and Capabilities for Health System Marketing. He was part of The Health Management Academy’s 2016 launch of the Consumer Consortium—a network of health systems committed to consumer-centricity.
Prior to joining Novant Health, David served as senior executive for Publicis Healthcare Communications Group and Ogilvy CommonHealth, two global agencies where he led teams instrumental in the development and execution of brand launches and campaigns for more than 50 pharmaceutical and biotechnology products—in therapeutic areas such neurology, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, infectious disease, orthopedics and women’s health.
Throughout his career, David has routinely engaged with the nation’s leading medical experts and top tier academic medical centers (AMCs). To accelerate drug development and go-to-market activities, he has facilitated interaction among the pharma/biotech industries, AMCs, and national associations. He is known for building collaborative and enduring relationships with key stakeholders.
David holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Marketing and Operations Management from the University of Toledo, a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
