QP Commission On CancerHenry Ford Cancer Institute was awarded the 2016 Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer. This award recognizes cancer programs that achieve excellence in compliance with CoC standards and provide the highest quality care to cancer patients. We are one of only 22 U.S. accredited cancer programs to receive this national honor for surveys performed July 1- December 23, 2016. The Henry Ford Cancer Institute is accredited as an integrated network; among a select group of programs national that has demonstrated integration and superior quality among many aligned hospitals and outpatient facilities.

The Henry Ford Breast Cancer Center received full accreditation across multiple treatment locations by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers (NAPBC). This means we are held to the highest standards of care for patients with diseases of the breast. The NAPBC provides the most efficient and contemporary breast care using scientific evidence about what works best for patients and monitors compliance at each accredited breast cancer. This is administered by the American College of Surgeons, which for more than 100 years has led national and international initiates to improve quality in hospitals.

We received full accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for radiation oncology services across multiple treatment locations. ACR Accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging. We earned it by providing the safest and best quality care possible.

We are recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Center for Cancer Care. In order to be recognized we must meet strict requirements for delivering quality health care delivered by multidisciplinary teams with subspecialty training and distinguished clinical expertise in treatment complex and rare types of cancer. The criteria used in designating Blue Distinction Center for Cancer Care was developed in collaboration with expert doctors and medical organizations, including the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. 

Our performance is top 1 percent nationally in patient satisfaction ratings via Press Ganey surveys in both radiation oncology and medical oncology services. Press Ganey’s mission has been to support health care providers in understanding and improving the entire patient experience.
