I believe women should take an active role in their health and wellness, throughout the life cycle. I believe puberty, birth and menopause are normal life events. I believe every woman deserves culturally sensitive care with and emphasis on education and teamwork with their providers. I love working with couples during the birth of their child!
Dr. Rife has been a nurse since 1977, graduating form Harper Hospital School of Nursing. She first worked in ICU and then, since 1982, in Women's Health. She has been a Childbirth Educator since 1979. She received her BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing) from WSU in 1984. She became a Certified Nurse Midwife in 1991, graduating from Frontier School in KY. She also received her MSN from Case Western Reserve University in 1991.
Dr. Rife has worked for the HFHS since June 1991 and is still awed by the privilege of supporting families during pregnancy, labor and birth. She is committed to assisting women in their personal health goals. Her practice includes well women exams, contraceptive counseling and normal obstetrics. She currently works at Canton Medical center 1 day a week for office, and at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital for deliveries.
She has been working as the secretary for the MI Affiliate to the American College of Nurse Midwives (2011-present).
Dr. Rife also does volunteer work with her church, the BSA (Boy Scouts of America) and with her neighborhood Association.
