Traditional Internship Curriculum
The Henry Ford Macomb Hospital (HFMH) Osteopathic Traditional Internship Program curriculum follows all the requirements of the Basic Standards for Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Model internship Curriculum for the Rotating Internship. A copy of these standards is available on the AOA website. We have an extraordinarily detailed curriculum manual that defines the goals and objectives of each individual rotation.
The internship program provides a wide range of academic programs to supplement the diverse clinical training experiences of trainees. The manual includes reading requirements in reputable textbooks, as well as well-respected journal articles Educational conferences will be the same at both campuses, alternate between campuses and/or technology will be used to allow all residents to participate at their assigned locations.
The Program requires that each resident obtain competence in the seven AOA competencies to the level expected of a new practitioner. The Institutional Core Competencies Plan (ICCP) specifies the teaching methods and evaluation system in place for each.
