Slow Cooked Italian Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 cup onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup real bacon bits
  • 2 (9 ounce) packages frozen Italian green beans
  • 2 cups canned stewed tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

In a medium nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and sauté onion and bacon bits, about 4 minutes. Place green beans, stewed tomatoes, salt, pepper and onion mixture in slow cooker; gently stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 3-1/2 hours.


Yield: 8 servings (about 2/3 cup per serving)
