The Transplant Registry

The goals of our Transplant Registry team are to motivate and enhance the efficiency of transplant research while facilitating internal and external research collaboration. The transplant registry team maintains abdominal organ transplant database prospectively and retrospectively. We provide clinical data to researchers, physicians, trainees, clinical care givers and medical students.

Our services:

Creation of an abdominal organ transplant registry, which is prospectively managed:

  • The registry creation has been approved by Institutional Review Board at Henry Ford Health System. We continue to work with EPIC software team at Henry Ford to create a system for automated reporting of data related to our transplant activities.

Collecting retrospective transplant clinical data using SQL programming through our electric medical record system from the Epic database:

  • After obtaining IRB approval for each study, the Transplant Registry team extract clinical data from the medical record system and merge these with our registry according to data requests from our researchers. This data collection and transition process allow us to efficiently review our clinical experience and provide feedback to our clinical practice.

Collaborating with United Network Organ Sharing (UNOS) registry:

Providing education for clinical trainees, research fellows and medical students:

  • We welcome trainees and researchers who are interested in transplant outcome research projects. We hold weekly virtual research meeting to discuss on-going projects and new ideas for future studies.
