Henry Ford Hospital's bariatric program in Detroit has been named by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery as a Center of Excellence. Dr. Jeffrey Genaw and Dr. Arthur Carlin have performed more than 2200 bariatric surgeries, with a mortality rate of 0% in the past five years, with 99% of surgeries done laparoscopically.
The Center of Excellence designation recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record of good results in bariatric surgery. The Henry Ford team was recognized for providing top quality care and excellent pre- and post-surgical support to each patient.
