Breast cancer affects one in eight women, but certain women have factors that can substantially increase their personal risk. If your risk of developing breast cancer is more than 20% throughout your lifetime, it’s important to change the way you think about and manage your breast health, as doing so can promote early breast cancer detection and prevention. What to expect at our high-risk breast cancer clinic

Knowing your personal breast cancer risk is the first step in being proactive about your breast health. Our team of experienced, passionate specialists will assess your risk factors, screen you for breast cancer and develop a preventative plan tailored to your needs. We will:

• Conduct diagnostic tests – using the latest technology – to help determine your risk and detect breast cancer at the earliest possible stage. (For example, mammogram, ultrasound, MRI, MBI, biopsy.)
• Give you comprehensive risk assessment advice and offer preventative options (including surgery, medications and/or lifestyle modifications) to lower your risk of breast cancer.
• If needed, refer you to a genetic counselor.
