Cardiac Rehabilitation at Henry Ford Health

Recovering from a heart attack, surgery, or other cardiac event can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to do it alone. Henry Ford Health’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program, also known as “The Confidence Course”, gives you the expert support, structure, and encouragement you need to safely return to daily life and reduce your risk of future heart problems.

What Cardiac Rehab Does for You

Our program is designed to help you:

  • Build endurance and strength through medically supervised exercise
  • Learn heart healthy habits that last
  • Manage stress and emotional recovery
  • Lower your chances of another cardiac event
  • Every plan is tailored to your condition, your goals, and your pace.

A Team Focused on Your Recovery

You’ll work with a dedicated team that may include:

  • Physicians
  • Clincal exercise physiologists
  • Registered nurses
  • Registered dietitians
  • Behavioral health specialists
  • Together, they coordinate with your cardiologist to guide your recovery safely and effectively.

What to Expect at Henry Ford Health

Most patients attend three sessions per week for up to 12 weeks, combining:

  • ECG monitored exercise
  • Education on nutrition, activity, and lifestyle
  • Counseling and emotional support

Your program begins in the hospital (Phase I), continues with outpatient monitored exercise (Phase II), and can transition into long term prevention and wellness through Henry Ford’s PREVENT program (Phase III).

Insurance Coverage
