For many people, pumpkin spice-flavored treats are a staple for the fall. But even if you aren’t a pumpkin lover, these smoothies will certainly help you embrace the season.
While pumpkin lattes and desserts are often heavy on the sweetener and high in fat, these pumpkins spice smoothies are a healthier alternative. Canned pumpkin puree, frozen banana and fat-free Greek yogurt help create that perfect creamy consistency while honey, vanilla, pumpkin spice and cinnamon give it that perfect flavor without being too sweet. Additionally, shredded carrots are added in to help maintain that orange color and provide additional nutrients.
Carrots, bananas and pumpkins all offer plenty of antioxidants and are good sources of potassium. Not to mention that both pumpkins and carrots also contain vitamin A, a nutrient that can benefit your eye health and immune system.
