About Me
Biographical Statement
Dr. Samantha Arsenault is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Henry Ford Health. She provides expertise in cataract surgery, corneal disease and transplantation, corneal infections, keratoconus management, ocular surface disease, and refractive surgery.
She completed fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the nation's top-ranked eye hospital. She trained in ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine, where she was selected as Chief Resident and received the 2024 ASCRS Resident Excellence Award, a national honor recognizing outstanding residents. She earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Honor Societies. Dr. Arsenault has published peer-reviewed research and presented her work at national meetings.
Care Philosophy
I believe in providing personalized, compassionate eye care that focuses on each patient's individual needs. I take the time to listen, answer questions, and explain treatment options in clear, understandable language. I also enjoy staying up to date on the latest medical and surgical techniques so that I can offer my patients the most advanced and effective treatments available. My goal is to help patients feel comfortable and confident as we work together to protect and improve their vision.
Research Interests
Dr. Arsenault's research focuses on optimizing cataract surgery and refractive outcomes, advancing surgical techniques in cataract surgery corneal transplantation, and investigating therapies for neurotrophic keratitis. In the past, she was also actively involved in community eye health projects aimed at expanding access to vision care and education.
