Vipin Varghese, MD

Biographical Statement

Dr. Vipin Varghese, MD, is a nephrologist dedicated to patient-centered care and advancing outcomes in kidney disease. He earned his medical degree from Ochsner Clinical School – University of Queensland, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Ochsner Clinic Foundation and pursued fellowship training in Nephrology at the University of Michigan.

His academic and clinical interests include acute kidney injury, specifically among patients with liver disease. In addition to clinical responsibilities, Dr. Varghese is passionate about medical education and teaching.

Care Philosophy

I believe that every patient deserves care that empowers them to take an active role in their health. My approach centers on education, partnership, and compassion—helping patients understand their condition and equipping them with the tools to make informed decisions. I see my role not only as a physician but as a guide, walking alongside my patients through every step of their journey. Together, we navigate the challenges of kidney disease, celebrate progress, and work toward the best possible outcomes.

Research Interests

Apart from his clinical duties, Dr. Varghese has regularly participated in research within a variety of subjects including acute kidney injury, hepatorenal syndrome, autoimmune kidney disease, urine biomarkers, and urine sediment analysis.
