Mental Health During and After Pregnancy

The Perinatal Behavioral Health Integration (Peri-BHI) program is a short-term telehealth program that provides behavioral or mental health services to pregnant and postpartum patients.

Mental health conditions like depression and anxiety are very common during pregnancy and after birth. These health conditions can lead to health problems during pregnancy and birth, and impact both the pregnant person and their family.

Our mission:

The Peri-BHI program can support mental health during pregnancy up to 1 year after birth. The program:

  • Looks for mental health concerns among pregnant and postpartum patients at Henry Ford Health.
  • Connects pregnant and postpartum patients with mental health concerns to treatment and support options at Henry Ford Health and the local community.

Our services:

  • Medication management: the team works together to make sure patients with mild to moderate mental health concerns are taking the right medicine.
  • Therapy services: this includes individual and group therapy though video visits through MyChart.
