Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

Henry Ford Health is a network of hospitals and medical centers that offer personalized, coordinated care. We treat some of the most difficult pulmonary (lung) issues and critical conditions.

Our patients benefit from our expertise as an academic hospital, too. We offer programs that train new doctors in many subspecialties (highly specific areas of medicine).

Your medical team at Henry Ford

When you choose Henry Ford for your pulmonary care, you’ll always work with a doctor who has your best interests at heart. Our specialists and medical experts consult together with you to develop your personalized care plan. Read more about the lung and pulmonary conditions we treat.

Our medical education program gives you access to many doctors who bring a wide range of expertise to your care. Your medical team might include:

  • Residents: Doctors who have completed medical school and are pursuing further training. Residents train for two to seven years, depending on their specialty.
  • Fellows: Physicians pursuing advanced training in the specialties of pulmonary and critical care medicine. Fellows have already completed their postgraduate residency period after medical school.
  • Attending physicians: Pulmonary Senior Staff physicians with expertise in pulmonary and critical care medicine. These doctors have completed a residency and fellowship. Henry Ford’s staff physicians treat patients and teach newer physicians in our medical education program.

The advantage of a teaching hospital

At Henry Ford, we combine teaching, research and advanced patient care. Our fellowship program is one more reason you can have confidence in Henry Ford. You can be certain your medical team keeps up with the latest proven treatments and diagnostic techniques. After all, we’re teaching other doctors how to treat your condition.  All we do — in patient care and in medical education — has the goal of improving your health and your enjoyment of life. We work to bring exceptional care to hospitals and other medical settings throughout the community. Learn more about our pulmonary team.
