In 2017, Henry Ford’s Medical Research effort earned the highest amount of external funding awarded in the history of Henry Ford Health. 

We have realized growth every year since 2013 (after some years of flat funding).

  • External grants and contracts for medical research reached exceeded $94 million.
  • Henry Ford ranks 4th among all institutions receiving National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding in Michigan and 175th in the nation (out of more than 2400 institutions) receiving NIH awards.

Cancer social workers provide counseling and other services to reduce stress for you and your loved ones through all phases of your cancer. They can help you:

  • Identify which treatment options may be best for you based on your job, family, and other factors in your life
  • Understand insurance coverage, disability benefits, and social security benefits and how to apply for them
  • Locate and apply for programs that offer financial assistance
