A Statement Regarding the Tragedy in Our Grand Blanc Community

Grand Blanc Township, Mich. -- Our Henry Ford Genesys Hospital team has cared for 10 people injured in the shooting and fire at a nearby church this morning—5 with gunshot wounds and 5 suffering from complications from smoke inhalation. We are grateful for and proud of our team – some of whom attend this church – as they continue to provide expert and compassionate care under the most heartbreaking of circumstances.

Our hearts go out to our patients, their families, and our Genesee County community—especially the people worshipping when the tragic act of violence occurred. Counselors and spiritual care providers are offering confidential support and counseling services for our patients and team members.
