I specialize in Minimally Invasive Surgery, Fibroids and Obstetrics.
Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency, Program Director
My guiding philosophy in practicing medicine is to "treat every patient as I would my own family members". I empower them by providing them knowledge about their condition and all the treatment options(including non-surgical) available to them. By customizing treatments based on an individual's needs, I help them improve their quality of life. I specialize in minimally invasive gynecology and robotic surgery. This option truly helps women to get well sooner than traditional surgery.
I was born and raised in India. I attended All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi for medical school and a residency in OBGYN. This is the premier medical school in India. Thereafter, I completed my Master in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. This degree helped me think more in terms of preventive health and caring for populations and not only individuals. My passion for OBGYN, saw me completing my residency in OBGYN again from Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. I joined the Henry Ford Medical Group shortly thereafter in 2007 and have been with Henry Ford ever since. I am a member of the Gynecologic Robotic Surgery Team with office locations at New Center One in Detroit, MI. I present papers on robotic surgery at national conferences and am on faculty for our 2-year Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Fellowship.
