Life After Psychiatry Residency

Training at Henry Ford means being prepared to succeed in any practice setting

Our program boasts a 100 percent first-time pass rate on Part I of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology exam, which means our graduates have a number of options once they complete their training. Up to half of our graduates successfully pursue Fellowship training. We have a formal affiliation with Wayne State University School of Medicine. Many of our own graduates chose to remain in Detroit for Fellowship. Wayne State has trained many of our graduates in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Many of these folks have returned to practice at Henry Ford, or have moved on. Those who transition to practice directly after Residency Training find success in a variety of practice setting. Our Survey of Graduates consistently reveals that we are well prepared for this transition. Here's where some of our last year's graduating residents went after training at Henry Ford:

  • Cindy Devassy, M.D. - Henry Ford Behavioral Health Outpatient Psychiatrist
  • Kristina Glover, D.O. - Henry Ford Behavioral Health Inpatient Psychiatrist
  • Neelima Kunam, M.D. - Henry Ford Health Outpatient Psychiatrist
  • Gagandeep Singh, M.D. - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at University of Michigan
