Program Description

This program is structured to provide house officers with advanced and concentrated training in family medicine and to prepare one for examination leading to board certification in this discipline. Applicants must be graduates of an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited college of osteopathic medicine and be a member of the AOA to sit for the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) certification exam. House officers sitting for American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) certification exam need to be compliant with maintenance of certification for house officers as required by the ABFM. Osteopathic house officers in this program will be eligible to sit for either or both of the AOBFP or ABFM Boards. The program meets requirements for both board examinations; however, the house officer must be compliant with each Board’s certification requirements.

The training program is designed to train the family medicine house officer through exposure to a diverse community of patients, physicians, and other allied medical personnel committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive primary care. The residency program aims to be both rigorous and personally fulfilling.
