Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals seeks to develop exceptionally skilled and highly competent osteopathic obstetricians and gynecologists who will become the future leaders in OB-GYN care within the community and profession as a whole.

Program highlights

  • Ambulatory continuity experience in obstetrics & gynecology for a minimum of one half-day per week throughout the residency
  • Continuity clinic adjacent to the hospital
  • PGY2 anatomy course at Michigan State University
  • Monthly MSU COM Statewide Campus System Educational Days (http://scs.msu.edu/)
  • Residency research support provided by Henry Ford Macomb faculty and Henry Ford Hospital staff
  • Procedure workshops (i.e., Ultrasound, colposcopy, simulation machines, etc.)
  • Grand rounds
  • Quarterly ethics conference
  • Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification classes every 2 years
  • Rotation specific lectures
  • Weekly chart review
  • Monthly urogynecology conference
  • Monthly journal club
  • Weekly protected didactics and book club
  • Monthly tumor conference
  • Monthly Morbidity & Mortality case review
  • Twice monthly fetal monitoring strip review
  • Weekly gynecologic oncology clinic while on gynecologic surgery rotations
  • In-house fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist and urogynecologist and MFM

  • Forceps delivery training and experience
  • Extensive urogynecologic surgical training and outpatient management
