HFI houses 3D printing capability. The 3D printing program has grown steadily in clinical impact. Thousands of patients have been impacted by 3D printed replicas of their anatomy that surgeons and interventionalists have used to better prepare for complex and unique procedures. HFI works in the fields of cardiovascular, orthopedics, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, ENT and urology as well as produces educational and training models for the simulation center. The 3D printing program has published six peer-reviewed journals, is involved in a multi-center clinical trial, has secured grant funding, applied for three patents and successfully licensed protocols to an international software development company that is creating plug-in modules to automate our methods.

Product Design

HFI offers an array of product design services and has on staff a full-time industrial designer. System innovators can use HFI resources to ideate, or to translate concepts and drawings into initial prototypes.
