Qualifications & Application Process
Qualifications
The Davidson Fellowship is primarily open to Henry Ford Health and Michigan State University employees but also welcomes applications from the regional business, start-up, and not-for-profit professionals. Applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Have at least 3 years of professional experience or graduate-level work.
- Be currently employed with exemplary performance evaluations. (Henry Ford Health employees should have a 3.5 or better on the Henry Ford Health Performance Evaluation, or provide an explanation if this evaluation can't be provided).
- Show a passion or interest in healthcare innovation.
- Have support from their immediate supervisor.
- Be willing and able to commit to in-person attendance for the monthly convenings of the 9-month program (collective monthly participation is estimated at 8 hrs/month of which four (4) hours are in person).
Application Process
- Application Submission
- Submit an online application including a resume, statement of purpose, and a 1-page letter of recommendation from a supervisor, mentor, or colleague.
- Complete the Supervisor Support Form
- Optional: Applicants may choose to include a description of a concept for an innovation they wish to pursue during the program. Providing a concept is recommended but not mandatory.
- Applications are due by Friday, August 8th, 2025, by 11:59 PM EST.
- External applicants will be required to sign an intellectual property and participation waiver.
- Selection Criteria:
- Evaluated based on passion for innovation, problem-solving skills, and potential contributions to projects.
- Interview Process:
- Selected candidates may be invited for an interview to discuss their application in detail.
- Notification of Acceptance:
- Successful applicants will be notified by August 30, receiving further details about the fellowship.
