The Honey Bee Award

What is the Honey Bee Award?

The Honey Bee Award was created by nursing leadership to honor support staff members who consistently go above and beyond for patients and their families. This includes nurse assistants, nurse externs, unit secretaries, technicians, and patient safety assistants. Henry Ford Health is proud to recognize these dedicated team members with this special award.  

Each Honey Bee Award winner is celebrated at a public ceremony and receives a certificate, a jar of Bit-O-Honey candy, a bouquet of flowers, a gift card, and a Honey Bee badge clip.  

How to Nominate an Amazing Nurse Support Staff Member

Patients, families, and hospital staff can submit nominations to recognize nursing staff who make a meaningful difference. To nominate someone who assisted you during your hospital stay, please complete a nomination form.

Please nominate nursing support staff who consistently demonstrate the following qualities:  

• Is compassionate, caring, and maintains a positive attitude
• Forms a meaningful connection with patients and their families
• Responds promptly and attentively to patients’ needs
• Communicates effectively with the healthcare team
• Goes above and beyond in caring for patients
• Maintains safety and cleanliness in the patient environment
