How to Get Started with Video Visits On Demand:

All video visits are conducted securely through Henry Ford MyChart. Follow the step-by-step instructions listed below or download a quick guide for more detailed information:

Step 1: Access your MyChart account

Yes, I have a Henry Ford MyChart account.

Login to MyChart and follow the instructions for device you’re using below.

No, I do not have a Henry Ford MyChart account.

1. Call 313-874-7526
2. Once connected, let the advocate know you would like to sign up for MyChart so you can do a video visit. They will ask you for demographic/insurance information and create a unique Henry Ford medical record number (MRN) for you, if you don’t have one.
3. The advocate will send you an e-mail with a link and an activation code to sign up for a Henry Ford MyChart.
4. Once you receive the email with your MyChart activation code, click on the link or go to henryford.com/mychart. Click on “Activate Your Account” and enter your activation code, MRN and date of birth.
5. You will be prompted to create a username and password for future access to your Henry Ford MyChart account.
6. Now you’re ready to start your video visit using MyChart.

Step 2: Begin your Video Visit

What to do once you’ve logged into MyChart with a mobile device or tablet:

If you are using a mobile device or tablet, please note you MUST use the MyChart app. You can download it in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

1. Open the MyChart app on your device and click on the “Video Visit On Demand” icon.
2. Follow the prompts to select your current location, reason for visit, and click “Put Me In Line.”
3. To eCheck-in, verify your personal information including insurance, current medications, allergies and current health issues,
4. Choose to “Begin Video Visit” right away and be placed in a virtual waiting room or choose to get a notification when the doctor is ready.
5. Once the doctor joins the visit, they will appear in the top box, while you appear in the lower box. You can begin speaking with the doctor.
6. Once your visit is over, click the button to hang up.

Note: If you get disconnected during the video visit, return to the Video Visit On Demand icon to reconnect. Do not drive while engaging in a video visit.

How to Download the Henry Ford MyChart app:

1. Within the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, search for “MyChart”
2. Click "Get" or "Install" to download the app
3. Once the app has been installed, click to open it, and accept the license agreement.
4. You will need to select Henry Ford MyChart as your healthcare provider. If you allow MyChart to use your current location when prompted, a list of nearby options will be provided. Scroll until you see “Henry Ford MyChart” and select it. (If you choose not to allow your location to be used, you can enter “Henry Ford” or “Michigan” under “Name/State/Zip” to find “Henry Ford MyChart” and select it.)
5. You will now be able to login to your MyChart account through the MyChart mobile app. Enter your username and password and click LOG IN.
