Jehann Abdallah, M.D.
Chief Resident 2025-2026

Jehann was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan. She graduated from The University of Michigan Dearborn with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She went on to earn her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados. Her interests in family medicine include preventative medicine, addiction medicine, adolescent medicine, and urgent care. In her free time, Jehann enjoys spending time with family, cooking, jogging, traveling, golfing, and is a diehard Michigan Wolverines football fan. After completing residency, Jehann hopes to practice in her home state of Michigan in an outpatient and urgent care setting.

Amanda Alabawi, M.D.
Chief Resident 2025-2026

Amanda grew up in Commerce Township, Michigan. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from Wayne State University and her medical degree from AUC School of Medicine. Her interests in family medicine include adolescent medicine, obstetrics and women’s health, preventive medicine, urgent care medicine, and aesthetics. In her free time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, traveling to new places, soccer, and exploring her creative side with photography and makeup. Upon finishing residency, Amanda hopes to work in both an outpatient and urgent care setting.

Dean Fitch, D.O.

Dean grew up in Grand Blanc, MI. He completed his undergraduate studies in Pensacola, FL and received his medical degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His interests in family medicine include procedural/preventative medicine. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, playing basketball with friends, and traveling.

Manpal Gill, D.O.

Manny grew up in Canton, Michigan. He obtained his bachelor's degree in biology at Wayne State University and his medical degree at Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Manny’s interests include sports medicine, osteopathic medicine, and nutrition. He strives to exemplify a healthy lifestyle to his patients through diet and exercise. Manny enjoys cooking and being physically active through exercise and sports, including golf, soccer, and basketball. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, traveling, being outdoors, and supporting his Detroit sports teams.

Amber Harris, D.O.

Amber was born and raised in Southfield, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University where she obtained a bachelor's degree in human biology. She earned her medical degree at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Her professional interests in family medicine are social determinants of health, academic medicine, behavioral health, and LGBTQIA+ care. She is passionate about providing and creating access to care for underserved populations. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and family, attending HIIT classes, traveling, and mentoring young Black and Brown girls interested in pursuing medicine. Upon finishing her residency, Amber plans to become faculty at a family medicine residency program where she can continue caring for patients and teach the next generation of residents.

Shahed Khalefih, M.D.

Shahed grew up in Toronto, Ontario. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto. She then earned an Honors Bachelor of Health Sciences from the Physician Assistant Program at McMaster University. After practicing for three years as a family medicine PA, Shahed's passion for the discipline grew further. She then went on to obtain her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine where she graduated with honors. Her interests in family medicine include preventive medicine with an emphasis on early intervention and lifestyle medicine, health promotion, obesity management, women's health, and behavioral medicine. In her free time, Shahed enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. Her hobbies and interests include custom wood burning, cooking dishes from many cuisines, planning and decorating for events, swimming, and kayaking. Upon finishing residency, Shahed hopes to practice family medicine in a multidisciplinary clinic serving a diverse patient population with an emphasis on preventive medicine and wellness.

Nadia Maqsood, M.D.

Nadia grew up miles away in one of the most diverse cities in the world, New York City. Having immigrant parents and experiencing healthcare disparities, Nadia was motivated to improve primary care from the start. She graduated from the University of Connecticut before attending St. George’s University School of Medicine. Her specific interests include preventative medicine and women’s health. In her free time, she loves spending as much quality time with her loved ones as possible. After residency, Nadia hopes to practice in an outpatient setting providing the best health care to those who need it the most.

Vikash Patel, M.D.

Vikash grew up in Holland, Michigan. Attended Michigan State University where he received his bachelor's degree and then Ross University for his medical degree. He has a wide interest in family medicine including procedures, women’s health and outpatient medicine. Outside of medicine he likes to spend time with family, is an avid movie enthusiast, reads books, plays games and listens to entertaining podcasts.

Lauren Addy, D.O.

Lauren grew up in Clinton Township, Michigan. She graduated with honors from Wayne State University, earning her undergraduate degree in biological sciences with a minor in public health. She then earned her medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University. Her interests in Family Medicine include osteopathic manipulative medicine, sports medicine, and behavioral medicine. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for loved ones, video games, reading, spending time in nature, and hanging out with her pet bunny, Chowder.

Matt Ammerman, D.O.

Matthew was born and raised near Flint, MI. He graduated Hope College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in business, and he graduated Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2024. His special interests within Family Medicine include preventative care and practice management. In his free time, Matthew enjoys hiking and woodworking.

Brandon Anton, D.O.

Brandon grew up in Troy, Michigan. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Oakland University and his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His interests within Family Medicine include preventative medicine, community health, addiction medicine, and behavioral health. In his free time, Brandon enjoys running, hiking, salsa dancing, weightlifting, and playing pickleball. After finishing residency, Brandon plans to work with underserved populations primarily in the outpatient setting.

Akshay Bansal, D.O.

Akshay was born in New York and raised in Canton, Michigan. He received a degree in Biological Sciences at Wayne State University and completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Akshay’s interests include osteopathic manipulative medicine and preventative medicine. Outside of medicine, his interests include spending time with family, playing basketball, and trying out new restaurants. After completing residency, Akshay plans on staying in Michigan and serving the community he grew up in.

Katie de Lara, M.D.

Katie grew up in the rural town of Shepherd, Michigan. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology at Saginaw Valley State University in 2020, after which she began her medical education at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. In the family medicine field, she is interested in women’s health, LGBTQ+ care, and mental healthcare. Her hobbies include reading crime novels, gardening, aerial fitness, and traveling. At home, she lives with her husband and three cats. After residency, she plans on staying in the metro-Detroit area to work in an outpatient office setting.

Meghan Kemp, D.O.

Meghan was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. She completed her undergraduate studies with a degree in Psychology and minor in History from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. She completed her Master’s of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She then went on and earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Meghan’s interests in Family Medicine include preventative medicine, lifestyle medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, and women’s health. In her free time, Meghan enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, running, playing golf, cheering on her Boston College Eagles, and spending time with her dog, Henry. Upon graduation, Meghan plans to remain in Southeast Michigan and work in an outpatient family practice.

Morgan Lockwood, D.O.

Morgan was born and raised in the Metro-Detroit area. She obtained her undergraduate degree and master's degree in biology at Oakland University. She then went on to attend medical school in Texas at the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic medicine. Her interests in family medicine include preventative medicine, sports medicine, and pediatric medicine. Morgan is also passionate about integrating osteopathy into the primary care of patients. In her free time, Morgan enjoys playing recreational sports, walking her dogs, and spending time with her family.

Alexis Tangalos, M.D.

Alexis grew up in Rochester Hills, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University’s Lyman Briggs College, where she received her undergraduate degree in Human Biology with a minor in Medical Ethics. She then went on to complete her medical degree at Central Michigan University’s College of Medicine. Her interests within Family Medicine include outpatient medicine, procedural medicine, and practicing full scope family medicine for all ages. In her free time, she enjoys quality time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking and baking, spending time at the lake, and cheering on all Detroit sports teams and the Michigan State Spartans!

Emily Votel, D.O.

Emily was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Spanish at Hillsdale College. She earned her medical degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Her interests in family medicine include preventative medicine, lifestyle medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, and behavioral health. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, swimming, hiking, gardening, and learning new languages. Upon finishing residency, Emily plans to continue practicing medicine in Southeast Michigan and serving the community she grew up in.

Zainab Agbaje, D.O.

Zainab was born and raised in an underserved community in Lagos, Nigeria, where her passion for medicine was sparked at an early age. She later immigrated to the United States to pursue higher education and earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Chemistry from Sam Houston State University. She went on to attend medical school at Michigan State University, where she developed a strong interest in hands-on care and procedural medicine. Zainab is particularly drawn to family medicine for its breadth and continuity, with specific interests in the OB track, women’s health, and procedural medicine. Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, weightlifting, baking, cooking, and exploring new places.

Suma Alzouhayli, M.D.

Suma Alzouhayli, MD: Suma grew up in Troy, MI. She earned her B.A. in Biology and Chemistry with a concentration in Biophysics from Kalamazoo College, a small liberal arts institution in West Michigan that was featured in “Colleges that Change Lives”. She was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society and served in many leadership positions recognized by Senior Leadership Award. She earned her medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI where she served as an elected official of the Institutional Justice and Inclusion External Senate Committee and honored with a Senior Leadership Award in 2023. Suma completed a preliminary general surgery internship at the Detroit Medical Center prior to transitioning into family medicine. Suma is drawn to family medicine due to the breadth and depth of the field. She plans to tailor her practice to promote health literacy, preventative health, and patient autonomy. Suma is a hands-on and detail-oriented physician who plans to master procedures to bring comprehensive, multilevel care to her patients. She is exploring fellowship opportunities in sleep and sports medicine. Suma enjoys gathering with family and friends and staying active. She is a big proponent of retail therapy.

Rachel Branham, M.D.

Rachel was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She graduated from Howard University in Washington DC, with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine. She continued her education by completing a master's in health sciences from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She received her medical degree from Meharry Medical College. Her current interests within Family Medicine include outpatient medicine, preventative medicine, procedures, and addressing health care disparities. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, makeup, skincare, and shopping.

Intisar Hourani, M.D.

Intisar was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, and is a proud first-generation college graduate. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Wayne State University before earning her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Her interests within family medicine include chronic disease management, preventative care, procedural medicine, and community health. She is passionate about building long-term relationships with patients and delivering high-quality, accessible care to underserved communities. Outside of medicine, Intisar enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and reading.

Emma Kauffman, D.O.

Emma grew up in Brainerd, Minnesota. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Minnesota Duluth and went on to complete her medical degree at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her interests within Family Medicine include addiction medicine, reproductive health, and LGBTQ+ health. In her free time Emma enjoys hiking, camping, canoeing, cross country skiing, visiting art museums, and spending time with her partner and pet lizard.

Caroline Muia, M.D.

Caroline was born in Mombasa, Kenya and grew up in Canada. She received her Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master’s of Science degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. She then went to earn her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Her interests in Family Medicine include preventative medicine, rural medicine, addiction medicine, and global health. In her free time, Caroline enjoys running, traveling, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Bianca Parker, M.D.

Bianca was raised in Farmington, Michigan. She attended Eastern Michigan University where she obtained a bachelor's degree in biology and chemistry. She continued her education by completing a Master’s of Science in Pathology from Case Western Reserve University. She earned her medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Her professional interests in family medicine are social determinants of health, global health, procedural medicine, and sports medicine. Outside of medicine, Bianca enjoys spending time with her family, baking, hiking, and traveling.

Anthony Salem, M.D.

Anthony was born and raised in Southeast Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, double majoring in linguistics and biology, and his medical degree from St. George’s University. His interests within Family Medicine include practicing full-scope family medicine for all ages, preventative medicine, addiction medicine, and behavioral health. Anthony’s personal interests include caring for his family dog, outdoor activities, and languages in general, especially writing systems. Upon graduation, Anthony plans to remain with his family in the Metro Detroit area and to work in outpatient family practice.

Katie Sullivan, D.O.

Katie grew up in West Bloomfield, MI. She completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University in Kinesiology with minors in Health Promotion and Medical Ethics. She earned her medical degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Her interests in family medicine include sports medicine, preventative medicine, and lifestyle medicine. In her free time, Katie enjoys hosting friends and family, working out, traveling, spending time with her 2 cats, and cheering on Michigan State sports and the Detroit Lions.
