If your doctor thinks you need heart surgery, we make every effort to get you in to meet with one of our surgeons as quickly as possible. Here’s what you can expect:

• Review of your family health history
• Discuss your symptoms, past treatments, medical history and lifestyle
• A physical exam

We may also send you for additional diagnostic tests, such as echocardiography to find out more about your symptoms and see if you are healthy enough for surgery. We perform testing in dedicated cardiovascular testing labs where a team of diagnostic experts uses special equipment and techniques to test your heart’s functioning.
