It’s easy to overindulge around the holidays, which is why it’s important to also have healthy options at the table. These garlic roasted green beans are packed with flavor and are an easy side dish to bring with you to your next party.

Aside from tasting delicious, garlic has been known to have numerous health benefits – like boosting your immune system and improving cholesterol levels. Combine with green beans – high in vitamin C, fiber and vitamin K – and it makes for a delicious yet healthy dish. Who knew green beans could taste so fun?


Garlic Roasted Green Beans

2 pounds fresh green beans, ends trimmed
2 1/2 Tablespoons sesame oil
8 garlic cloves, sliced or minced
2 Tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 Tablespoon lemon zest
1 Tablespoon lemon juice


Preheat oven to 425° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, combine green beans, sesame oil, garlic, soy sauce, chili powder, and lemon zest. Toss to coat evenly.

Arrange beans in a single layer on parchment paper and bake for 10-15 minutes until tender and slightly browned. Remove from oven and top with lemon juice.
