Gastroenterology Fellowship Program

The Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery fellowship is a one-year postgraduate training program that was established in 2013 with the intention of enhancing core knowledge, expertise, and mastery of technical skills. The program is accredited by the Fellowship Council and fellows that complete the program are eligible for certification through the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA).

The HPB fellowship accepts one fellow per year and is matched through the Fellowship Council matching program. Pre-requisite training is necessary for all candidates and is most suitable for those trainees who have completed a surgical residency in good standing. The fellowship is available for trainees with postgraduate experience no less than PGY-6.

Graduates who complete this program gain the knowledge and experience to become experts in the surgical management of hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases through a multidisciplinary team approach that focuses on comprehensive high-quality patient care, research, and evidence-based practices.
