  • Fellows get experience in attending oncology clinics and have individual Fellow Hematology continuity clinics
  • Each fellow is assigned a nurse navigator to assist with clinical work and a secretary to help with administrative work
  • All fellows are provided with a work iPhone upon joining. HIPAA compliant communication systems are utilized through ‘Halo’ communication app.
  • We have an oral chemotherapy program consisting of pharmacists and nurses who assist the care of patients on oral chemotherapy drugs
  • Rotations in radiation oncology, coagulation, blood banking, pathology (anatomic, cytopathology, hematopathology, immunopathology), gynecologic oncology, palliative care service, cancer genetics, diagnostic radiology and pediatric oncology as well as autologous and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation
  • Broad support from other disciplines within the institution with many opportunities for interaction at multidisciplinary tumor board conferences, including gastrointestinal oncology, urologic oncology, neuro-oncology, head and neck cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma/leukemia, breast cancer, melanoma/sarcoma and gynecologic oncology
  • Investigational treatment protocols of the Southwest Oncology Group, NRG Oncology, Henry Ford Cancer and contract pharmacologic studies for experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials
  • Collegial environment with opportunity to connect, learn and relax at the fellows room which are equipped with individual work stations.
  • We use EPIC EMR across all Henry Ford sites.
  • All fellows get meal allowance to avail at main campus as well as the Cancer Pavillion.
  • We have free, covered parking 24/7- a blessing in Detroit!
  • Fellows are allowed 22 vacation days. There is provision for at least 6 weeks of parental leave and additional leave of absence as needed.
  • Each fellow is allotted $1500 annually for professional development.
