About Brian

I love water skiing, snow skiing, weightlifting, and video games with my kids. All of these make me feel like I have something to conquer or challenge me physically on a daily basis. I also really enjoy passing my knowledge to others which you can see through me coaching my kid's ski team, being heavily involved int eh Medical Physics Residency, and helping teach the Physician Resident Physics course. I really value helping other people improve and reach their goals in life!

About Kundan

Kundan Thind, PhD, is Vice Chair of Academics in Radiation Oncology, and Division Head of Radiation Oncology Physics at Henry Ford Health. He is passionate about deploying technology that aims to improve patient care across clinical operations, through rigorous implementation and research. His research focuses on AI for treatment planning, quality and safety, and post-treatment surveillance, alongside MRI-guided adaptive radiotherapy and imaging-driven workflows. He mentors residents and junior faculty to translate ideas into reliable, scalable solutions across a multi-site system.

About Tony

Upon graduation from my medical physics residency at Thomas Jefferson University in 2009, I joined Henry Ford Health where I’ve been employed ever since. I’m passionate about clinical medical physics, utilizing cutting edge technology to provide high quality, high impact treatments with the utmost consistency and accuracy. Outside of clinical responsibilities, I’m also involved in department administration, radiation shielding, and radiation/magnetic resonance safety administration at a system level. At a national level, I am active in AAPM as a member of the IMRT work group as well as a writer on TG-352. I am also a member of the NRG physics committee working on lung and MR-guided protocols, as well as co-chair of two clinical trials (LU001 and LU004). I also volunteer with the ABR, as a member of the OLA writing committee, a Part 3 examiner, and as a member of the Initial Certification Advisory Committee.

About Natalie

Natalie Baughan completed her clinical residency in Medical Physics at the University of North Carolina, and previously, her Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. Her graduate research focused on AI for breast cancer risk assessment and algorithm development for the Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC). Her current clinical research interests are re-irradiation and utilizing advanced imaging and clinical data for outcome prediction. She is a Michigan native and enjoys yoga and hiking in her time outside of work.

About Amanda

Prior to becoming a medical physicist, my graduate and postdoctoral research was focused on cardiovascular imaging. My current research aims to apply this knowledge to challenges in radiation therapy, specifically exploring cardiorespiratory motion management, radiation induced cardiac toxicity, and MRI applications in radiation therapy.

About Stephen

Overall, I enjoy the process of solving problems and building things. Within radiation oncology, this includes an interest in imaging for radiation therapy, dose calculation algorithms, contouring/treatment planning uncertainties, as well as building infrastructure for efficient and effective department documentation, continuous process improvement, and solution-minded thinking.

At home, I am blessed to have a great family - with 4 girls and a black lab. In terms of hobbies, I enjoy being active (golf, hiking, swimming, paddleboarding, etc.) and building things (woodworking, cabinetry, furniture design and production).

About Humza

Dr. Humza Nusrat is a Senior Staff Physicist at Henry Ford Health and an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University. His research interests focus on advancing precision radiation oncology through the integration of AI in treatment planning, the development of novel dosimetry methods for FLASH radiotherapy, and virtual reality tools to enhance brachytherapy training. By combining clinical practice with research in computation, simulation, and detector technology, his work aims to improve the accuracy, safety, and accessibility of cancer treatments. He is also deeply committed to mentorship and education, fostering the next generation of physicists to bring innovation into patient care.

About Ryan

Ryan Hall Morales received his BSc in Physics from the University of Puerto Rico Río Piedras in 2018 and an MS in Medical Physics from the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. He joined the Henry Ford Health therapeutic medical physics residency program in 2022 and subsequently became a staff medical physicist in 2024. His research interests include exploring the use of scripting and LLMs for the automation of radiation therapy planning and quality assurance workflows, spatially fractionated radiation therapy techniques, and dose calculation and optimization algorithms. In his free time, he enjoys exploring locally hosted home automation, listening to music, and spending time with family.
