Current Head and Neck Microvascular Surgery Fellow
Uthman Alamoudi, M.D.
Medical School: King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Residency: Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia
Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, I went to King Abdulaziz University for medical school in my hometown, Jeddah overlooking the red sea on the west coast of the country. After medical school, I completed my residency at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the eastern coast of Canada. During residency, not only did I develop a passion for head & neck oncologic surgery, but I was blessed with two beautiful girls. As my passion and my family grew, I sought to obtain further training, specializing in head & neck microvascular surgery. At Henry Ford Health, I found exactly what I need both on professional and personal levels. From a professional aspect, I enjoyed an unparallel operative experience with exposure to a balanced mix of free flap reconstruction cases, trans-oral robotic cases, and head & neck endocrine oncology cases. I’ve developed a great deal of autonomy in a very welcoming and collegial atmosphere. It is a pleasure to work with the head & neck team members of the Henry Ford Health Care System. And on a personal level, my family and I enjoy the Detroit metropolitan area. It’s a place rich in diversity and culture. We had great access to parks, museums, and cultural festivals. It is a great place to raise a young family. I’m incredibly grateful to have come to Detroit, MI for this fellowship. I believe that it is a well-structured fellowship program and will give future fellows the necessary confidence, skill set, and clinical judgment to be competent head & neck oncologists and realize their dreams.
