Application Process

Thank you for your interest in our Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at Henry Ford Health System - Detroit. We adhere to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME - 1872521057) and participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Match.

Positions

There are 4 positions available in the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program at Henry Ford Hospital-Detroit (HFH), each year on a competitive basis. Academic year begins on July 1st.

Qualifications

To apply to the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program, you must have completed an accredited four-year residency program in Neurology in the United States or Canada. You must also be board eligible for the American Board Examination in Psychiatry and Neurology. All requested documents originally written in a language other than English (transcripts, diplomas, test, ECFMG, etc.) must be in English translations and/or certified or notarized (if applicable).

Application Requirements

ACGME Eligibility and Intuitional Requirements

Successfully complete an accredited residency in one of the following:

• Neurology
• Child Neurology
• Neurodevelopmental Disabilities
• The residency must be accredited by one of the following:
• ACGME
• AOA (American Osteopathic Association)
• ACGME International (Advanced Specialty Accreditation)
• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
• College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), where applicable.
• Meet institutional eligibility requirements, including:
• Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent)
• Appropriate medical licensure or training license required by the institution/state
• Employment eligibility (e.g., visa requirements for international graduates)
• Compliance with the sponsoring institution's GME policies.

  • Personal statement
    Outline your professional goals in Neurology
  • Current Photo
  • Official final transcripts
    Must show degree earned and date conferred from each institution attended
  • Official test transcripts
    USMLE and/or COMLEX
  • ECFMG Certificate
    Required if you graduated from a medical school outside the United States
  • Letters of recommendation (3 total)
    From physicians or faculty familiar with your work in Neurology/ Clinical Neurophysiology; One must be from your residency program director

      • Academic performance
      • Personal qualities
      • Potential for success in Neurology
• Completed application (ERAS or institutional application)

Once these documents have been received, the selection committee will review the application. The applicant will be notified by e-mail if selected for an interview. Applicants must be U.S. citizen, permanent residents of the U.S. or possess a J-1 visa.
