Application and Selection Process

Prerequisites

Applicants to the Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency program must possess the following:

  • Current licensure as a physical therapist in the State of Michigan or anticipated licensure
    upon graduation from an accredited physical therapy program. License must be active upon
    the start of residency.
  • Meet all Henry Ford Health employment requirements, which may include, but is not limited
    to, a criminal background check, health screening and pre- and post-employment drug
    screening

Application Materials

Applicants are required to submit the following items prior to the application deadline to be
considered for selection into the program:

  • Essay
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Resume/CV
  • Transcript (unofficial) from entry level physical therapy academic program

Admission to Program

In addition to meeting the required prerequisites, applicants will be evaluated and selected based
on the following criteria:

  • Academic Education
  • Clinical Experience in Orthopedic Physical Therapy
  • Structured Interview Results
