Mission
The mission of the Henry Ford Providence Hospital Colon & Rectal Surgery fellowship program is to produce outstanding physicians trained in Colon & Rectal Surgery who are fully prepared to pursue careers in either academic medicine or private practice.
Introduction
Fellows in our program benefit from innovative treatments and technology. They work alongside some of the most outstanding colon and rectal surgeons in the region.
Our fellowship program is a one-year program, with one fellow per year for the ACGME-accredited program.
Clinical Sites
Henry Ford Providence Hospital is a community hospital with two campuses located in Southfield and Novi. The hospital provides tertiary care in Oakland County and to the population of the Detroit Metropolitan Area. The new Colon & Rectal Surgery program was accredited in 2024.
Our fellows also provide care for patients at Henry Ford Macomb Oakland and Henry Ford Rochester hospitals. Fellows will have the opportunity to provide care and coverage at Corewell Health System in Grosse Pointe, MI.
Didactics
The didactic lectures include weekly sessions. Lectures from faculty (regional and national) and presentations driven by fellows include case presentations, M&M, journal clubs, research meetings, and more. Our faculty is deeply involved in these didactic activities.
