Resident Wellness

The Anesthesiology Resident Wellness Committee at Henry Ford St. John Hospital is a dedicated initiative designed to support the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of residents, in alignment with ACGME Common Program Requirements. Co-chaired by a faculty member and our Program Coordinator, the committee includes elected resident representatives from each training level to ensure broad input and engagement. Its mission is to foster a culture of wellness, address burnout, and build community through regular wellness programming, educational resources, and open communication. The committee meets quarterly to plan events, review feedback, and respond to resident concerns, promoting resilience and professional sustainability throughout residency training.

Our department offers a variety of wellness activities, including:

  • Social outings
  • Annual holiday party
  • Annual department picnic

Hospital wellness amenities include:

  • Renewal rooms throughout the hospital
  • Rooftop garden
  • Healing Arts Center
