Interested In Becoming A RYSE MED Program Mentor?

The RYSE MED program aims to support student mentors from backgrounds who are underrepresented in medicine and who face structural barriers to pursuing careers in medicine. Undergraduate, graduate and medical student mentors will receive a $1,200 stipend for their work in the program.

Those who meet the following criteria may apply:

  • You are a rising sophomore, junior or senior undergraduate student studying pre-med, nursing, public health, biomedical sciences or related fields.
  • You are a health professional graduate student (i.e., you’re studying to become a physician’s assistant, nurse practitioner, nurse midwife, doctor, dentist, etc.).
  • You are a graduate or doctoral student in a health-related research concentration (i.e. master of public health or science, Ph.D. in epidemiology or biomedical engineering, etc.).
  • You are able to commit to participating in all activities during the six-week summer intensive program. No absences are allowed outside of extenuating circumstances.
  • You are eligible to work in the United States.

Students on academic leave or probation will be considered. Please provide an explanation in your application.

Applications are due on April 7, 2023 by 11:59 PM EST. We will notify applicants of our decision by April 22, 2023.
