Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship
Message from Program Director:
Welcome to the Henry Ford Hospital Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) Fellowship Program. Thank you for your interest in our program! I invite you to explore our website and discover one of the premier HPM fellowship programs in the State of Michigan.
The Henry Ford Hospital HPM Fellowship Program is a one-year, adult-focused, ACGME accredited program in Detroit, Michigan. Our mission is to train HPM physician leaders who provide and promote relief of suffering and quality of life for patients experiencing serious and life-limiting illnesses. Our fellows graduate prepared to practice in both the community and academic settings. They are proficient in coordinating the care of seriously ill patients, leading interdisciplinary teams, educating medical learners of all levels and advancing the field of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Henry Ford Hospital is the primary teaching site and the flagship hospital of Henry Ford Health. It is an 877-bed quaternary care center and home to 53 ACGME accredited training programs. Our fellows learn alongside nearly 700 other residents and fellows in a rich and supportive learning environment. Several additional clinical sites round out the clinical experience providing our fellows with diversity in patient population and disease processes. Learning is facilitated by a large, engaging HPM faculty and an exceptional interdisciplinary team.
A robust didactics series, communications curriculum, faculty development workshop, and plentiful scholarly opportunities supplement our clinical training and provide a comprehensive educational experience.
I am confident our program can meet your educational goals as you pursue fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Thank you again for your interest in the Henry Ford Hospital HPM Fellowship Program. Please contact me or our Program Coordinator, Brandy Wright, with any questions.
