Infectious Disease

Duration: 4 weeks or 8 weeks

Period offered: July - May

Distribution of student's time:
80% inpatient care
15% conferences/lectures
5% laboratory work

Enrollment/Period: 4 maximum, upon availability

Prerequisites: Completion of core clerkship in Medicine

Objective:

  • Improve understanding of the evaluation of patients with infection, antimicrobial usage and microbiology tests upon completion of this rotation.

Description:
The student functions as a member of the Infectious Diseases team, and sees patients with senior staff. The student is expected to review infectious disease literature prior to his/her case presentation.
