Externship & Fellowship Programs

The Henry Ford OptimEyes educational experience includes:

• Partnership with Henry Ford Health
• Acute Medical eye care: receive referrals from hospital and surrounding area urgent care centers
• Specialty Contact Lens fitting: receiving referrals from HFH and surrounding ophthalmology practices
• Glaucoma management
• Comprehensive eye care with state-of-the-art technology: OCT, VF, Wide field imaging
• Highly trained support staff and technicians
• 2025 Residency had 2033 patient encounters - 37% Primary care, 27% Disease, 31% Contact Lenses, and 5% Pediatrics
• Externs experience an average of 800 encounters/rotation - 80% Primary care and 20% Medical and Specialty Contact Lens
