About Me
Biographical Statement
Dr. Adjei Boakye is an Assistant Scientist in the Departments of Public Health Sciences and Otolaryngology. His research focuses on population-based questions related to cancer prevention and control, survivorship, and health disparities, using a transdisciplinary approach. He works to 1) investigate population-based knowledge and risk factors associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV), HPV-associated head and neck cancer, and HPV vaccine and implement interventions to increase HPV vaccination among eligible individuals 2) examine social determinants of health, health disparities, and cancer health outcomes among cancer survivors and 3) improve the quality of life and survival of cancer survivors through patient-reported outcomes (PROs). He also mentors residents and fellows in Otolaryngology, postdoctoral fellows, and PhD students in HFH and other institutions. Dr. Adjei Boakye's research has been featured in media outlets including NBC News, MSN, Washington Post, New York Post, The ASCO Post, and Healio.
