Knowing your costs means better planning.
Coming soon, Henry Ford Health System will be launching an interactive self-service estimate tool that will allow you to create your own estimates in real-time! The new tool will create estimates with expected out-of-pocket costs — based on your expected service and your specific insurance co-pay, co-insurance, and deductible information.
Henry Ford Health System is committed to providing you with the highest quality of care at the lowest cost. As a part of that mission, we want to be helpful and transparent when it comes to your cost of care. Understanding your out of pocket costs in advance of your service can help you with making informed decisions about your care.
Cost estimates for common procedures
Henry Ford's charges are the same for all patients, but your responsibility will vary depending on your health insurance plan. Services from your physician may be billed separately if your physician is not employed by Henry Ford Health System. Please contact your independent practitioner directly for pricing estimates.
Estimates available include:
- Imaging services (MRI, CT scans, etc.)
- Common lab tests
- Women's health (mammogram, PAP, etc.)
- Doctor visits (Wellness, check-ups, etc.)
- Outpatient procedures
Why was my bill different than my estimate?
Henry Ford is committed to providing the information that allows you to be informed about your health care services. Our goal is that our pricing estimates help set expectations about your out of pocket costs.
To determine your expected out of pocket costs, we estimate the amount allowed by your insurance company for the anticipated service provided, based on your benefit plan and your insurance company’s contracted rate with Henry Ford Health System. But there will still be factors we cannot plan for in an estimate.
- Prices are based on patient needs and the level of service.
- There are many products and services bundled into one hospital visit. Medications, tests, additional supplies all impact the cost.
- Reimbursement may vary based on the policies of different insurance companies, health plans, and government plans such as Medicare and Medicaid.
