Employee Resource Groups (ERG)

At Henry Ford Health System we believe that unique talents, ideas and perspectives are what set us apart. Therefore, Henry Ford supports and encourages employee involvement in our diversity and inclusion efforts through participation in Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

The goal of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) is to promote and encourage a culture of professional growth, build positive direct relationships with staff and maximize each employee’s contribution to the mission, vision and values of Henry Ford Health System. Henry Ford Health System supports a culture of inclusion that will enhance the quality of care and comfort for each person that we serve.

To that end, ERGs are organized by Henry Ford Health System employees to:

  • Provide professional and personal growth opportunities for all employees
  • Provide education and awareness for participants and other employees around various dimensions of diversity

In addition, ERGs help Henry Ford Health System achieve a significant competitive advantage by driving the organization’s mission and diversity strategy, specifically by identifying ways to:

  • Generate ideas to increase revenue and reduce costs
  • Help eliminate communication and language barriers that contribute to health care disparities
  • Recruit and retain diverse employee talent
  • Meet the needs of diverse communities in which we serve
  • Play a key role in developing targeted marketing and branding opportunities
