Senior Vice President
Susan Hawkins rejoined Henry Ford Health System in July 2016 as the Senior Vice President of Population Health. She is responsible for providing administrative leadership in the development and implementation of a system-wide approach to population health in order to drive improved outcomes at a lower cost. Hawkins has extensive experience in leading, designing, evaluating, and implementing large-scale, innovative changes to strategies and processes. She has led teams in leadership system design and development, teaching, and organizational change, and, has extensive experience in clinical quality, safety and informatics, strategic planning and business development, project management and process improvement (including Lean/Six Sigma). Before returning to Henry Ford, Hawkins was Senior Vice President & Chief Quality Officer for Detroit Medical Center. At DMC, she led a newly consolidated, system-wide team of 98 professionals responsible for quality and safety performance, including researching, designing, implementing, and monitoring best practices in evidence-based clinical processes, high-reliability safety programs, infection prevention and epidemiology, regulatory readiness, and organizational sustainability.
