2015 Quality Expo
For nearly 25 years, Henry Ford Health System has hosted one of the best quality improvement events in the country. The Quality Expo provides a platform for employees to showcase and be recognized for their work that leads to improved quality, safety and performance as well as new clinical innovations and best practices.
Henry Ford is the only health care provider in southeast Michigan to host a quality expo. The 2015 event featured more than 130 projects. Six projects received recognition awards including the Equity Award for a project that works to identify and address disparities in health care.
About the projects
This year’s projects highlighted several relevant topics, including:
- Improving environmental health and sustainability in healthcare clinics and hospitals.
- Using daily safety huddle meetings with clinical staff to raise awareness to safety issues, foster accountability and improve quality of care.
- Reducing readmission rates by engaging skilled nursing facilities in the care process.
