No Harm Campaign

In 2008 Henry Ford Health System embarked upon a journey to eliminate all harm to patients. This campaign was a groundbreaking innovative project, which carefully examined many types of harm that occur to patients and employees in our healthcare settings. Our goal was, and continues to be, to provide the safest possible care to everybody, at all times and in all locations.

Since that time we have made tremendous progress in becoming safer. We have reduced harm by over 33%.

Our No Harm Campaign was awarded the 2011 John Eisenberg Award for quality in recognition of this campaign by the National Quality Forum and Joint Commission.

We continue to focus our efforts on making healthcare as safe as possible. We are currently developing our next generation of harm reduction efforts – the Harm 2.0 journey. This will take advantage of our upgraded electronic medical record and reporting capabilities which allow us to identify and track harm “real time”, and to target earlier intervention. We look forward to providing you more details on our Harm 2.0 journey in coming months.
