Community Education and Support

Resources for people dealing with addiction

Care for addiction, also known as substance-use disorder, doesn’t stop once a person goes home from residential (inpatient) treatment or finishes an outpatient addiction program. Recovery is an ongoing process, and we encourage patients and their families to take advantage of the many resources available. This includes our own addiction education programs as well as the possible use of 12-step programs offered by organizations throughout the metro Detroit area.

Addiction education programs and support groups

Community EducationOur addiction team provides the opportunity for patients and families to participate in programs about substance-use disorder education, coping skills, and intervention. These programs are available at Henry Ford Maplegrove Center in West Bloomfield. All of our addiction programs are free, but some may require registration.

12-step programs for addiction

Although we don’t offer 12-step addiction programs to our patients, we often recommend them as a valuable resource. These programs can provide ongoing stability, structure, and support for patients and their loved ones.
